Cafe Nero Logo

For Cafe Nero’s launch into stardom, they needed a logo — and fast. But it couldn’t be average, and it couldn’t be unoriginal.

We designed their logo with old school New Orleans in mind, right down to every last pixel. The text in the logo is a font taken from a sign our web developer saw while walking through the Treme — an old sign, painted probably in the 1940s, with just absolutely stunning text. By taking a photo of the sign, we were able to create a font out of the image, and we embossed it with a steel blue color that the restaurant uses in their dining room. To finish everything off, we needed something iconic, and we found our inspiration on Bourbon Street of all places. We created a vector graphic of a New Orleans street lamp, with fleur-de-lis spire, and “lit it up” for the completed logo.
